Shahron Williams van Rooij

Dr. Williams van Rooij is associate professor in the Learning Technologies Division of the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University. With more than 20 years of experience in the private sector before transitioning to academia, Dr. Williams van Rooij brings the dual strengths of practitioner and scholar to the field. Her corporate experience includes management positions in learning technology solution development, software marketing, and market research in the financial and advertising industries.
Dr. Williams van Rooij received her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology with a minor in Software Information Systems from George Mason University. She also holds a doctorate in Quantitative Methods from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and the Project Management Professional (PMPĀ©) credential from the Project Management Institute, Inc. Dr. Williams van Rooij joined the Mason faculty in 2007 and has a solid record of publications and conference presentations on workplace learning and development, project management, e-learning, and open source software for teaching and learning.
